Here’s an opportunity for you to be the judge.\u00a0 Microsoft has appealed the permanent injunction imposed by Judge Davis of the Eastern District of Texas in i4i v. Microsoft<\/span>.\u00a0 Importantly, the permanent injunction would apply to any continuing infringement of US patent 5,787,449 by Microsoft’s Word<\/em> product.\u00a0 Judge Davis also\u00a0approved $240 million in damages to i4i for infringement by Microsoft.\u00a0\u00a0 The Federal Circuit has\u00a0issued a temporary\u00a0stay of the permanent injunction pending a decision on\u00a0the appeal.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The oral argument at the Federal Circuit before\u00a0Judges Schall, Prost, and Moore\u00a0was conducted on September 23, 2009.\u00a0 The court has not yet issued\u00a0a decision.\u00a0 Hence, you can decide how you would resolve this appeal.<\/p>\n
